Embassy Visa

The first kind of visa you can apply for is a visa through the Vietnam Embassy in your country.

It’s a simple procedure wherein you have to visit the website of the Vietnam embassy and download the Vietnam visa application form. Once you have filled the form, you must take a printout and attach your photograph to it along with your signature.

Once this step is complete, you will have to take the application form and the other required documents (mentioned on the website) along with your passport. Also, you will have to submit these along with a visa fee, at the Vietnam Embassy in your country.

Once your visa application is processed and approved, you will have to wait for your passport with the Vietnam Visa stamp.

Electronic Visa

The electronic visa or the e-visa is a process in which you apply for a Vietnam Visa online. That is, through the official website for Vietnam’s e-visa application.

Once you open the web page, you can fill out the required form and upload all the necessary images of your passport. You will also be prompted to add all additional information about your trip, like your temporary stay address in Vietnam, entry and exit dates, etc.

Once you have filled in all the required fields, you will have to make a payment for the e-Visa fee online. After making the payment, you will receive a registration number which must be saved.

Your Visa should be available within 3 working days of the application. The e-Visa has a validity of 30 days.

Visa on Arrival

Visa on arrival is a convenient, hassle free, and great option if you decide to take a last minute trip to Vietnam. It’s also known as airport – based visa. As the word suggests, you can get a visa to enter Vietnam at the Vietnam airport itself. For visa on arrival, however, you do need to apply for a visa approval letter online in advance.

The first step is to visit the website through which you can apply for the Visa on Arrival application form and pay the service fee through your bank account.

If you visa has been approved, you will receive an approval letter on your e-mail within 2-3 days. This letter must be printed and carried with you to Vietnam. At the Vietnam airport, you need to submit this approval letter along with your passport and photo, and pay the stamping fee.

The most basic Vietnam Visa that is required to visit Vietnam is the tourist Visa. This visa is valid for 15 to 30 days. You can also extend the validity of this visa once you reach Vietnam.

If you want to explore Vietnam for longer, you can request for a 3 month visa. This one follows the same procedure as that of the one month visa.
